Phoenix MOD Nylon Watch Strap – Handmade in the UK
Available in 18mm, 20mm, and 22mm – Admiralty Grey, Stealth Black, or Olive Green

The return of a classic. These MOD-style nylon straps are handmade in the UK to original Ministry of Defence specifications, using military-grade nylon sourced from traditional British textile mills.

Phoenix Straps Ltd has been the official MOD supplier since 1978. Now, with founder Mike Steward officially retired, he has agreed to produce a limited batch exclusively for AKIO Watches (MKS is owned by AKIO). Once this run is gone, it may not return.

Each strap is hand-finished by Mike himself using a fully UK-based supply chain. These are not mass-produced. No outsourcing, no shortcuts - just proper British craftsmanship.

What Makes a Phoenix Strap Different?

  • Original MOD specification – the same style supplied to British forces

  • Handmade in the UK since 1978

  • High-density 0.8mm nylon with tight weave and soft flexibility

  • Heat-pressed tip and edges for a clean, sharp finish

  • Longer length for traditional "tuck-back-under" military wear

  • Laser-engraved Phoenix logo on the buckle

  • Strap size engraved on underside

  • Stainless steel hardware, polished finish

  • Machine washable and built to last

Strap Dimensions (approx.):

  • Total Length: 288mm

  • Distance from buckle to first keeper: 22mm

  • Distance between first and second keeper: 68mm

Available Options:

  • Sizes: 18mm / 20mm / 22mm

  • Colours:
    • Admiralty Grey – the most iconic and highly requested (the most expensive variant as this is from new material which like most things has seen a dramatic hike in price)
    • Stealth Black – classic, versatile, and understated
    • Olive Green – field-ready and vintage-inspired

If you've worn a Phoenix before, you know the difference. If not, this is your chance to own a strap with real history and purpose behind it.

Still made in the UK. Still the real thing.
